The Best Bars featured in The World's 50 Best Bars

This year, these bars have earned a spot on The World’s 50 Best Bars list not only for the originality of their cocktails but also for its Mexican ingredients and spirits.

Tlecān

Ranked #20 on the list, Tlecān features a minimalist style and focuses mainly on agave-based beverages. Its décor, inspired by pre-Hispanic roots, immediately invites guests to explore its mezcal selection. The menu also includes bacanora, sotol, pox, and raicilla. A standout drink is the Paloma Blanca, made with grapefruit juice, lime, mezcal, and volcanic salt.

Baltra

Ranked #83, Baltra is a small yet well-designed space where the bar serves as the heart of the experience. This spot feels like being in your own living room—unpretentious and relaxed, with the focus on enjoying great drinks. While they have a set menu, seasonal specials are also available, such as their mezcal take on the classic Sazerac cocktail. Vegetarian-friendly snacks are also on the menu for perfect pairings.

Rayo

Coming in at #87, Rayo is inspired by the legend of the goddess Mayahuel, who is said to have transformed into an agave plant. This bar pays homage to spirits, crafting cocktails with a wide variety of them. They also offer a menu of shareable dishes. A must-try is the Soldado Medina cocktail, made with tequila, chili-infused liqueur, green herbal liqueur, absinthe, and lime.

Tierras de uva

Dedicated to the distribution of wines and gourmet products, Tierras de uva offers a selection of wines based on THE ROOT. Radical wines, pure and with their own identity, that speak not only of the landscape from which they come, but also of the one that gave them form and substance. In Tierras de uva they defend and advocate for wines with soul. In its catalog you will find a carefully chosen selection to surprise the most demanding palate. It has red wines such as Malasenda Crianza. D.O. Ribera del Duero 100% Tempranillo, or whites and rosés such as Nanclares. D.O. Rueda. Verdejo, as well as Umea. D.O. Navarra. Garnacha. But they also offer dinners, pairings and tastings for the most sybarites.
