Curated by Damián Romero, the second edition of ZⓈONAMACO LAB offers more than an exhibition: it invites visitors to interact, play, and question the things we often take for granted. Here are six reasons to go.

This is not simply about looking. Radical Optimism brings together interactive, immersive, and sensory installations that invite visitors to actively participate. The exhibition turns the space into a territory for exploration and discovery, where each personal experience becomes part of the work.

We live among notifications, screens, and almost constant connectivity. Radical Optimism starts from this reality to ask what happens to our attention, perception, and habits as technology takes up more and more space in everyday life. The exhibition brings together artists and creators including Brian Eno, Tania Candiani, Stefan Brüggemann, Orly Anan, Rodrigo Garrido, Iregular, and AMIANGELIKA, among others. Through different disciplines and languages, their work creates scenarios where imagination, technology, and critical thinking intersect.

4. Because play can also be a way of thinking

One of the most compelling aspects of Radical Optimism is its use of play as a tool for approaching complex questions. In the face of the exhaustion, isolation, and uncertainty that technology can also produce, the exhibition proposes curiosity and the pleasure of experimentation as ways of imagining alternatives.

The exhibition is curated by Damián Romero, founder and director of MUTEK México, a platform that for more than two decades has championed digital creation, contemporary audiovisual practices, and electronic music. His perspective shapes an exhibition interested in what becomes possible when technology and experimentation meet.

6. Because ZⓈONAMACO Also Happens

Beyond the Fair LAB expands the ZⓈONAMACO conversation beyond its usual dates, creating a space dedicated to experimentation and engagement with diverse audiences. For one month, Casa Hotbook becomes a meeting point for contemporary art, technology, and new forms of participation in Mexico City.
