Since 2023, she has led the direction of Salón ACME, one of the most dynamic and influential platforms in Mexico City’s art ecosystem. Under her leadership, the project has continued to expand its vocation as an open, collaborative, and constantly evolving space. Here, Ana shares her relationship with Mexico City, her favorite places, and the cultural routes she loves.

Why do you like living in Mexico City?

I feel it’s a city with great cultural richness, a lot of history, and a lot of energy. There is enormous potential for creativity. It also has a very strong sense of hospitality.

Where is your favorite place to walk?

I think Chapultepec Forest; I love it.

What is your favorite outdoor space?

I really enjoy the areas around the museums: the Tamayo Museum, the National Museum of Anthropology, or the Sunday bike ride.

Which gallery do you like to visit regularly?

Peana, in La Roma. The space is beautiful and very open; I always enjoy visiting it. Also Labor Gallery.

Where would you take your foreign friends shopping?

I really like taking them to La Ciudadela. It’s across from the National Library, and if it’s Saturday or Sunday, they can watch people dancing in the Plaza del Danzón.

And for food?

Campo Baja. It’s a seafood restaurant from Ensenada, Baja California. They recently celebrated their 10th anniversary, and they have always been very consistent in the quality of both service and food.

For drinks?

Covadonga is still an interesting place.

What are your three must-sees in the city?

Definitely the Zócalo and the Historic Center, with a walk through Bellas Artes, the Alameda, and ending at the Zócalo.

How should someone experience Salón Acme?

I would recommend planning a full day. We offer an experience that’s different from other fairs. Arrive early to see the art calmly, stay for lunch, continue exploring, and maybe stay for the evening events.
