In Mexico City, cultural programming is constant, and this summer one of the most compelling events for visitors is the collaboration between MUTEK MX and WARP, two platforms that have operated as key nodes within electronic music, digital art, and contemporary culture in Mexico. The encounter takes shape in the presentation of British artist Max Cooper with his 3D/AV Live: Feeling Is Structure Tour, scheduled for July 19, 2026, in the capital.
The project is framed within a curatorial approach that understands technology not as a support, but as a language. In Cooper’s work, sound is articulated through data visualizations, mathematical structures, and real-time audiovisual storytelling. The result is not organized as a traditional concert, but as an environment where image and sound continuously interact to construct perception.
This is not the first time his work has engaged with the MUTEK MX ecosystem. In previous editions, his project Aether was presented at Sala C de la Fábrica, while Hyperform—created in collaboration with visual artist and programmer Maotik and mathematician Dugan Hammock—was part of immersive experiences at the Papalote Museo del Niño dome. These works have contributed to a sustained relationship between his practice and the languages the festival has developed in the city.
The 2026 edition of this collaboration also includes performances by The Bionic Harpist and Techno Para Dos: Fran•gere, expanding the sonic spectrum toward practices that intersect performance, electronic experimentation, and live execution. Together, the program shapes a day when different approaches to listening and image unfold as simultaneous layers.
Beyond the event itself, the partnership between MUTEK MX and WARP is part of a broader network of collaborations that has expanded Mexico City’s cultural circuits. These connections between independent spaces, editorial platforms, and cultural institutions reflect a shared logic of continuity: creating conditions for creative scenes to operate beyond isolation.
For international visitors, this programming offers direct access to one of the city’s most active scenes in electronic music and digital arts. Within a stay in the capital—whether based at a hotel or as part of a cultural itinerary—the experience becomes a way to observe how the city integrates technology, creation, and audiences into a shared space of experimentation.
In this sense, the value of the encounter is not limited to the presentation of artists, but lies in the opportunity to access a form of cultural production where collaboration becomes a structural principle.
Tickets are now available through the MUTEK MX platform. The event takes place on July 19 at Maravilla Studio at 6 p.m.
